Business Process Tips
FROM: SEP-OCT 2004 ISSUE | BY ROBIN DAY
A few weeks ago, after discovering my consulting firm had not sent out any invoices for several weeks, I decided to undertake a small Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) project. In the course of this project, I came across a few Web-based resources that may come in handy to CGA Magazinereaders.
http://www.bptrends.com/
The Business Process Trends site is an excellent source of BPR news and information. In addition to the monthly electronic newsletter, this site provides a wide variety of resources including case studies, articles, and links to a variety of vendors and BPR-related associations.

Brint.com has assembled a collection of BPR resources and unlike many lists of links, a portion of the Brint.com version is presented in a Q&A format, making it easy to identify which articles are most relevant.

This document provides a summary of the effective five-step approach used at State Florida University in BPR projects.

The results of BPR can’t always be measured using traditional accounting reports. The balanced scorecard performance measurement system described on this site takes measurement to a new level.
Of course one of the key success factors of BPR is the ability to stay on task and follow the project through to completion. I guess that might explain why I can’t get my billing done. Can anybody out there recommend a good accountant?
