Authorizing a Rep
The CRA has recently made changes to Form T1013, Authorizing or Cancelling a Representative. An updated version of the form T1013 is now available at
www.cra-arc.gc.ca.
Age Claims
You can claim a higher age amount this year if you were 65 or older on December 31, 2006, with a net income of less than $64,043. The maximum age amount has increased to $5,066 from $4,066. For more info, go to www.cra-arc.gc.ca.
Charitable Donations
Altruism now has a website at the CRA. Entitled Giving to Charity: Information for Donors www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tax/charities/donors/menu-e.html, the site provides details about tax credits and helps potential donors choose a charity from among the more than 82,000 that are registered in Canada.
