Strategy Drives Success

If you’re driving in unfamiliar territory, a good road map is essential. If you’re an organization expecting to move decisively into the future, you’ll need a first-rate strategic plan to guide you along the way.

It’s fortunate that CGA-Canada has such a plan to steer us in the right direction. Our strategic plan has six clear and compelling goals:

  • Ensure full professional equity for CGAs
  • Be the fastest growing designation
  • Be a value provider to the profession and the public
  • Protect and enhance our leadership position in the delivery of education, certification, and continuing professional development
  • Increase our visibility and achieve high brand recognition and value
  • Ensure the health of the association.

The achievement of all these objectives remains paramount as we develop specific tactics to meet a rapidly changing business environment.

This year, our goal of being a value provider to the profession and the public was enhanced with the release of our research report: Fading Productivity – Making Sense of Canada’s Productivity Challenge. Our comprehensive exploration of this timely issue received the most media interest we’ve ever achieved. Not only are we contributing value to the profession and the public, we’re raising our visibility, supporting the ever-increasing value of the CGA brand, and contributing to the growth of our designation.

Throughout the fall, CGA-Canada will be working with national branding experts to clarify our unique brand identity in the marketplace and to carve out a pre-eminent position for CGA in future years.

All of these developments and achievements take close collaboration. And our collaborative activities, provincially and nationally, have never been better. As we head into 2008 and the celebration of 100 years since the founding of the CGA designation, I am optimistic about the future and the leadership role we are destined to play for many years to come.
