CGA-Canada Named A Top Employer

Recently, CGA-Canada was pleased to receive several very special designations – as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers and as one of BC’s Top 40 Employers. Along with this good news came word that we also made the Financial Post’s 100 Best Companies to Work For in Canada for 2007-08.

These are important honours indeed and they are highly coveted by Canada’s leading employers. This news sends a clear signal that CGA-Canada is a great place to work. And we’ve been working hard to attain this recognition over the past several years. When all is said and done, it’s really our 100 plus employees in Vancouver and Ottawa who truly deserve the thanks and recognition for these prestigious honours.

Ours is very much a knowledge-based organization. We continually strive to deliver the best programs and services to CGAs everywhere. Education experts continually refine the CGA Program of Professional Studies. Specialists in continuing professional development ensure that CGAs hone and evolve their skills throughout their professional lives. On the research front, we have been crafting innovative and forward thinking research projects on critical issues facing our profession and the broader community.

Government relations and regulatory affairs specialists in Ottawa work to ensure we continuously represent the public interest to key stakeholders, and every day we make valuable policy contributions. On the international front, we have a skilled team of experts ensuring that our designation is well represented on the global scene.

Our IT team ensures a smooth running and technology savvy operation, while Public Affairs oversees marketing, branding, media relations, and multimedia services, and ensures full bilingualism thanks to our team of translators. And what organization would be able to function without a talented finance and administration team? CGA-Canada is full of great people with talent, energy, and enthusiasm.

In our recent journey to top employer status, we made an extra effort to listen to our staff and to hear about their needs. Our people work hard, but also work smart, and that means being responsive, being green, and being diverse.

For me, personally, the achievement of this recognition means a great deal. In the coming employment crunch it will stand us in very good stead – to survive and to thrive.
