Following a Board decision in 2007, a new governance model was implemented in the fall of 2008. Comprised of the Board of Directors and a newly created Affiliation Council, this two-tiered governance system ensures that the association is dynamic and responsive in order to maintain momentum into the future. The Affiliation Council is composed of representatives from each affiliate and is responsible for developing the strategic plan, approving dues and fees, endorsing standards and other duties. The Board of Directors became a smaller group, charged with overall governance responsibilities for the association.
