CGA-Canada Chair and CEO Michel Guindon MBA, PhD, FCGA, today announced the appointment of longtime business veteran Anthony Ariganello, CGA, as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA-Canada).
"We welcome Anthony's extensive background in finance and management," said Guindon. "He brings a wealth of experience in senior leadership and will play a crucial leadership role with the association."
Prior to joining CGA-Canada, Ariganello was President of Avon Canada Inc. and held a financial position with Nortel Networks. During his tenure with Avon, he worked as Controller, Vice President, Finance and Vice President Finance and Logistics.
As a result of his successful implementation of a series of business process redesign initiatives, he was promoted to president in January 2000. As president, he continued to deliver strong sales and profit growth while driving organizational change.
A graduate of McGill University, Ariganello has been chairman of the board of directors of the Direct Sellers Association of Canada, a member of the board of the Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association, and the Nonprescription Drug Manufacturers Association of Canada. He is also a member of Financial Executives International and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Ariganello started with CGA-Canada on June 10, 2003.
CGA-Canada is a professional accounting body representing more than 55,000 CGAs and students in Canada, Bermuda, the nations of the Caribbean, Hong Kong and the People's Republic of China.
