(Vancouver, B.C, December 13, 2006) —

The Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA-Canada) and Tecnológico de Monterrey have partnered to offer Mexican students an opportunity to earn the globally respected CGA designation, and spend a year studying in Vancouver, British Columbia.

“We are delighted to announce this exciting new partnership with one of Latin America’s leading universities,” said Anthony Ariganello, CGA-Canada President and CEO. “The CGA-Tecnológico de Monterrey Program will allow some of Mexico’s best and brightest students to expand both their academic and personal horizons.”

Tecnológico de Monterrey is a private, non-profit nationwide university system with 95,000 students and 33 campuses in 27 Mexican cities.

“This collaboration offers our students a once in a lifetime opportunity,” said Astrid Vazquez Garza, Director of the International Degree Program at Tecnológico de Monterrey. “Not only do they have a chance to earn a prestigious accounting designation, they can spend a year studying in one of the most spectacular cities in the world.”

Students in the CGA-Tecnológico de Monterrey Program will spend their first three years enrolled in public accounting and finance degree courses at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Their next year – comprised of two semesters and two advanced online CGA courses – will be spent at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia.

Students will then return to Mexico to complete their last two online courses, which will prepare them for the final professional exams. CGA accreditation will be awarded to students who receive their degree in public accounting from Tecnológico de Monterrey, and subsequently obtain three years of work experience.

UBC is an internationally renowned university, with a reputation for excellence in advanced research and learning. The university’s main campus is a mere 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver. It boasts a magnificent setting with ocean and mountain views, and a pleasant temperate climate.
