Student Computer Systems

By the time students become certified as CGAs, they will have a high level of expertise in computer and information technology, including:

  • practical, hands-on technical knowledge of the computer as a management and financial problem-solving tool

  • the ability to participate in the design and control of complex information systems

  • the ability to manage and adapt to technological change within an organization

  • increased proficiency in applying computers to problem analysis and decision making

Beginning with Level 1 of the Program of Professional Studies, students must have access to a CGA-designated computer. The Required Software and Minimum Computer System for 2008/2009 describes the operating system and software requirements and the minimum computer hardware.
