Past examinations, suggested solutions, and examiners’ comments for courses offered in the CGA Program of Professional Studies are available below to download. They are posted 10 working days after the marks release date.
Past examinations provide students with an indication of the form and content of the CGA examinations. However, students are cautioned that they need to prepare by mastering the course materials and not by studying solely from the past examinations, for the following reasons:
- The content of some CGA courses may be revised extensively from one academic year to the next: therefore, the content of past examinations may not be representative of current course content and focus.
- Studying past examinations will not guarantee successful completion of the final examination as each course examination is designed with original questions that test comprehension and application of the course knowledge.
- The form and content of some of the examinations and suggested solutions may not be representative of current CGA courses because of recent changes to the format of some examinations and to the CGA program Syllabus. For example, CGA examinations make increasing use of multiple-choice and integrative questions, which may or may not be represented in past examinations published on this site.
Based on information and guidance received from examiners, students are often misled by focusing their exam preparation on past examinations rather than on the current course material. Students are once again cautioned not to rely extensively on past examinations as they have not been updated to the form and content of the current course materials or examination.
Instead, each course includes two practice examinations based on current course content that are reflective of the style and format of the examination. Students are encouraged to use this resource, along with their course material, as their primary exam preparation tools.

Level 1 – 4 examinations
* As of 2007-2008, the EM1, LW1, and QU1 examinations will be 100% multiple choice, and the past examinations will no longer be published. Please see the course material for sample examinations for those courses. Examiner comments for these examinations are still posted.
