Professional Development and Ethics

Continuing professional development is a lifelong commitment for CGAs. The CGA Association’s dedicated professional development website, PD Net, brings together all the tools CGAs need to conduct online research, as well as giving them access to the latest professional development opportunities.

Developed by CGAs for CGAs, PD Net is an exclusive CGA resource available to all CGAs, students in the CGA program of professional studies, and the public. The site features a compilation of targeted information to answer questions CGAs face in their day-to-day work; resources are chosen for their relevance, depth, and integrity.

PD Net provides:

  • continuing professional development opportunities, such as seminars and online courses
  • a virtual library of articles written by CGAs, online resources, books, and other publications
  • profiles of strategic alliances that introduce member benefits and links to educational partners
  • various tools and guidelines for both professional and practice development
  • a customizable monthly electronic newsletter

Promoting professionalism and ethics

Another key component of the Association’s commitment to professionalism is CGA-Canada’s Code of Ethical Principles and Rules of Conduct, a comprehensive set of rules and guidelines designed to protect the public and ensure that CGAs maintain the highest ethical standards. CEPROC provides specific statements on acceptable conduct that govern the professional behaviour of CGAs and ensure superior professional services.
