The developing global economy is causing accounting and auditing standards to change at a rapid pace. In 1979, the CGA-Canada Research Foundation was formed out of a growing need for technical research into how these changes impact the profession. The main objective of the Foundation is to operate exclusively as a charitable organization for encouraging, fostering and promoting the advancement of education and research in connection with the practice of the profession of accountancy.
The Research Foundation serves to advance research and education by sponsoring academics and researchers having interest in technical accounting issues including issues relating to accounting and auditing standards. Of particular interest are matters arising from Canada’s transition to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
The CGA-Canada Research Foundation relies on the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations which are committed to supporting the advancement of the accounting profession. Donations of any amount are welcomed.
